Divisions, Schedule and Season Info
Start Smart Field Hockey, Entering Kindergarten: this is a developmentally appropriate introductory field hockey program for children in Kindergarten Fall 2015. The program prepares children and their parents for organized field hockey in a fun non-threatening environment, without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. This is a parent/guardian participation division. Every child must have a partner. Siblings over 13 may also help.
Season runs Saturdays indoors in SMS Gym, September 12th through October 24th, 8:30am-9:15am

Jr. Field Hockey, Grades 1&2: provides a great introduction to the sport of field hockey, with skills and mini scrimmages.
Season runs August 31st through October 24th. Labor Day: No practices 9/5 or 9/7
Monday practices: 5:15-6:15pm
Saturday practice and scrimmages: 9:30-10:30am

Youth Field Hockey, Grades 3rd – 6th: the first few weeks will be practice sessions on both Wednesdays and Saturdays; the remainder of the season will include weekday practices and games on Saturdays. Some games may require travel to local towns.
Season runs September 2nd through October 24th. Labor Day: No practice 9/5
Wednesday practices: 5:15-6:15pm
Saturday practices: 10:30am-12:00pm
Games: TBD. Current online schedule shows SMS practice times here but please look for updates on times and location through the season as games are scheduled.

Program Location: Saco Middle School Gym and Front Field Hockey Field

Equipment: All players must have molded mouth guards and shin guards. Sticks are available for use during the season, however players are welcome to purchase their own. Eyeguards are required for the grades 3-6 division; we will have some available for use or players may provide their own.

Coaches: Angela Bolduc and Erika Dube, with help from Sue Spath, SPR staff, and Lori Smith and the TA Varsity Women’s Field Hockey Team.

Additional Season Info
TA Varsity Clinic: Saturday, September 13th from 8:00-9:30am at Hill Stadium - mark your calendars! Open for all divisions.

Picture Day: Saturday, September 20th, during practice. K-2 will take pictures towards the end of practice; grades 3-6 will take pictures at the beginning of practice. Players should arrive on time with their game shirt on.
