Saco Stars Fall Mini Cheering Program

Saco Parks & Recreation is excited to offer our Fall Mini Cheering Program! This program is available in two divisions for the Fall 2023 season.

The first division is the Start Smart Mini Cheering Program for ages 2 years old through Pre-K. This program is an introduction to basic movement, music and fun, based on a cheering structure with emphasis on the fun! Our new Start Smart format for this age group will involve a parent partner during every session.  This is a developmentally appropriate introductory cheering program.  The program prepares children and their parents for organized cheering in a fun environment.
Details: meets Mondays 5:30-6:00pm starting September 11, 2023

Our other division is the Rising Stars for Kindergarten – 2nd graders. Rising Stars will start as an introduction to cheering with more of the basics of cheering, jumps, stunting, music and fun and will move into more complicated cheering basics and more tumbling and stunting as the progression allows.
Details: meets Wednesdays 5:30-6:30pm starting September 13, 2023

Don't wait!  Registration is open through August 18th, or as space allows. Registrations received after August 18th will be subject to an additional $5.00 fee.

Level and Format
Both of these divisions will work for beginners and experienced cheerleaders. Both groups will work on routines to be presented to friends and family at the end of the program as well as other opportunities to show their talent.

Clothing and Equipment Needed
  • Cheerleaders will receive a t-shirt as part of their registration.
  • Participants will need black shorts and all-white sneakers that are for indoor use only and changed into at the program.
  • Parents in Start Smart: please wear socks.
  • No shoes worn outside or bare feet are allowed on the mats.
