The Saco Parks and Recreation Department is excited for the return of our walking and running program: SNAP Walking and Movement Academy!

This program is designed for a special needs group, for participants ages 5-22. This program would provide an opportunity for individuals with special needs interested in running, walking and exercise. Each meet up would focus on the importance of a warm-up, stretching, and the basic fundamentals of this kind of exercise. Each practice would also include a variety of challenges such as relays, teamwork, coordination exercises, & Plyometrics training. Each individual would get to spend time on what they enjoy most, whether that be walking, short sprints, or long distance. Practices will mostly be held inside, but some outdoor time may also be included.

The instructor/coach is, Alyssa Dipietro, who is a local certified 1st & 2nd grade-multiage teacher, and currently works at Fairfield School. Alyssa is also a certified personal trainer and is very enthusiastic about this program.
